Cool Christmas Jobs

By Andrew

We see a lot of Christmas casual jobs each year, so we thought we'd start a post on the coolest Christmas jobs we have seen.

1. Qantas

Ok - don't get too excited. Sadly, Qantas don't offer summer work flying around the world. But they do need extra baggage handlers at the airport over Christmas.

Qantas Ground Services (QGS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas Airways - and if you are cool with working in all kinds of weather and at strange times... baggage handling could be the summer job for you!

You'll need to do a medical check, including health & fitness, alcohol and other drugs tests. Plus, they will do a background check including a Federal Police Check.

Most of the work is unloading freight - all those Christmas presents shipped by air!

2. Life Guards

This MUST be the classic summer job! Local councils hire additional life guards over summer.

You need lots of qualifications, like; PWC Licence / Bronze Medallion (Surf) and/or Certificate II in public safety (Aquatic Rescue) / Class C Drivers Licence / Advanced Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate / Senior First Aid Certificate / Spinal Management Certificate / Defibrillation Certificate / Experience in surf lifesaving / High level of physical fitness and health.

3. Magic Cave Assistant

You're literally being paid to be Santa's little helper. David Jones employs "Magic Cave Assistants" each year and your job is to make sure every kid has a magical Christmas experience. You will be responsible for hundreds of childrens childhood memories of meeting Santa. This must be the ultimate Christmas casual job!

4. Hmmm... We haven't got a fourth one yet. What do you think? Email us and we'll add on to this post as we hear about other cool summer jobs.
